About Us

Dear Visitor,

For more than 20 years now in Belgrade, Serbia there exists a group of passionate ice hockey lovers that call themselves “Drvene Nogice” (Peg Legs). We enjoy this game at least two times a week at the ice rink “Pionir” in Belgrade. This association, more than 40 members strong nowadays, is made out of hockey fans, former players, but also includes few foreigners/diplomats that found residence in our home town, either permanently or temporarily. All of these guys are drawn to our late night games by common denominator that is love for the “fastest team sport on the planet” and unique feeling that accompanies it.

In the attempt to make contact and cooperation with similar clubs from abroad and engage and take more active role in already existing competitions of ever popular amateur hockey, in 2005 we have founded officially a club under the name Hockey Club “DN Beograd”.

We are very proud to say that in a short period we achieved a lot. Besides an intense cooperation with domestic teams from Novi Sad and Subotica, we have made quite a few contacts with foreign teams and played a substantial number of international games. We are especially proud of our successful organisation of international tournament held here in Belgrade since 2005, which we are making a tradition.

Also, we find great pleasure in the fact that our activity has lead to more media coverage and interest from people and we sure hope this will influence further popularisation and expansion of ice hockey in our country.
